Native to Mediterranean countries, Madagascar Star Anise is also called Pimpinella anisum. This spice is the fruit of Badian tree and known as the sunniest anise because it comes from the Tropics. Badian is shaped like a star with eight corners and has liquorice notes with spicy-sweetish taste. It also has a distinct sharpness and a fresh, pleasant after taste.
