Lal Pari Clove gains its name from two Indian words Lal: Red and Pari: Angel. This is named aptly to reflect its reddish-brown color. Varying in length from around 13 to 19 mm, Lal Pari is long and slender in shape. Its high Eugenol content imparts it with a pungent yet sweet and spicy penetrating aroma. This intensely aromatic spice has a subtly sweet and intensely warm bite to it which makes it highly sought after spice in the culinary world.
Grown in Sri Lanka due to its conducive soil type and PH level, Lal Pari cloves are flower buds of clove tree that get picked once they turn reddish pink. Once picked, they are dried till they turn a bright red color.
